Calling all creatives aged 14-30, what does the landscape look like to you?

Isle of Wight National Landscape are looking for 45 original artworks that reflect the diversity of the landscape bought to life in a variety of unique artistic styles. Selected work will feature in a National Landscapes publication and go on exhibition at Newport Minster in 2025. Submissions open on 1st October and close on November 17th, all artwork to be submitted via the Brave Island website. This new project – Creative Landscapes – launches in October.

Free workshops and walks

Our partners New Carnival Company, Dimbola Museum and Galleries, Isle of Wight College, Artswork and local artists and nature educators are running workshops in photography, sketching and creative painting. Inspirational walks will lead you across the downs and around the coast stopping to photograph, sketch and record along the way. The walks will demonstrate the many wonderful forms of landscape and seascape we have on the island. Creative workshops will take place in landscape or draw inspiration from the elements.

Workshop and walk information will be posted on social media, follow @isleofwightnl to find out more or our partners Brave Island, New Carnival Company and Dimbola Museum.

You don’t have to attend a walk or a workshop to take part

You might have taken a dark skies photo at Newtown, digitally illustrated Compton at sunset or painted a botanical watercolour scene in the Undercliff. Previously created artwork is welcomed along with new work created in direct response to the brief. Perhaps you’d like to share a view or perspective of the landscape that’s not often shown.

We are looking for detailed close ups of nature and wide angled compositions that include historic buildings, patchwork fields and vast seascapes. 3D work is allowed but only photographs of the work can be submitted.
